Cappuccino and a sticky bun

As a senior citizen I have come to realize that I no longer resonate with much of modern culture.
I’m here, but not here at the same time. Do you feel that way also?
Here’s an example of what I mean.
Recently I took my dog to get groomed. It would take about an hour and a half, so I decided to get a snack.
The closest eatery was Panera about a half mile away.
It was mid-morning, but the restaurant was fairly empty except for patrons of my age group.
So far so good.
I ordered a cappuccino and a Danish pastry and took a seat at a table.
Within seconds of being seated the hip hop rap noise began.
Couldn’t the staff see that the average age of the patrons was over sixty-five?
Why would they inflict this cohort with this noise? Is it designed to motivate people to leave as soon as possible?
I could barely stand sitting there and hurriedly finished my $9.00 coffee and danish.
A customer service person at the door had the audacity to tell me they were glad I chose Panera for my lunch.
Are you kidding me? There was nothing pleasant about my “lunch”. In addition to the noise, the coffee was twisted from a dish rag and the cinnamon bun was as thick and tasteless as a mound of mortar.
Sorry Panera. Never again!!
I should have known better.
Well as they say, line and learn.
